Gul inspects work on Legislature Complex, directs for early completion

Speaker Legislative Assembly Mubarak Gul inspecting construction work on Legislature Complex at Jammu on Friday.

JAMMU, Nov 8: Speaker Legislative Assembly Mubarak Gul today inspected the on-going construction works of Rs.104.44 crore Legislature Complex at Jammu and directed the executing agency Jammu and Kashmir Projects Construction Corporation (JKPCC) to gear up their field functionaries and speed up the pace of work of the project and complete it in a time bound manner.
The Speaker called for close coordination between JKPCC authorities and Assembly Secretariat. He asked the executing agency to use standard material on the project for which there will be no compromise, adding that any negligence in this regard will not be tolerated.
Secretary Assembly M. Ramzan, Managing Director, JKPCC T. R. Bhagat and other officers and engineers of JKPCC and Assembly Secretariat accompanied the Speaker during his visit.
Earlier, the Speaker convened a meeting with the officers and engineers of JKPCC to discuss and review the overall progress and physical status of the project.
It was informed that Rs.19.32 crore have been spent on the project so far out of released funds of Rs.36.94 crore. It was also informed in the meeting that protection works on hill side facing existing legislature complex building, alternate parking behind Civil Secretariat building and all Security related works have been completed.
The JKPCC authorities also informed that the construction work on the project is in full swing and assured that the Complex will be completed well in time.
