Srinagar, Feb 21: The Health & Medical Education (H&ME) Department has given a go-ahead to the Noora Para Medical Sciences, Lawaypora to start the Dialysis Assistant course apart from approving 100 per cent in the number of seats for Laboratory Assistant, Operation Theatre Assistant and Anaesthesia Assistant courses.
The approval has been given after the conduct of the necessary inspection and now, the seats for the Laboratory Assistant course have been increased from 10 to 20 for all three courses, while the institute has been permitted to have 20 more seats for the new Dialysis Assistant course.
The NOC given has been made subject to several conditions which include that no capitation fee will be charged by the Institute and that the permit shall be subject to any policy on the subject, which the Government may sanction in future for regulation of these Institutes.
“Eligibility of candidates for admission to the above courses shall be made on merit basis as per the provisions laid down by the Government from time to time through J&K Board of Professional Entrance Examination.”
The J&K Paramedical Council, H&ME said, shall inspect the institute, periodically, to monitor and assess the adequacy of infrastructure concerning the number of trainees.
“An amount of Rs.5000/-per trainee per session be charged by the Institute on account of providing hospital facility and the amount so received be utilized for Hospital Development fund of the Hospital to which the institute is attached,” it noted.
