Divisional Commissioner, Shantmanu chairing a meeting at Jammu on Saturday.

JAMMU, Nov 9: Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Shantmanu today asked the senior functionaries of various departments to work in close coordination and synergy for smooth celebration of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s birth anniversary falling on  November 17, 2013.
Shantmanu was chairing a high level meeting to review the arrangements for Gurupurab (Prakash Utsav) of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
The meeting was attended by DC Jammu, Ajeet .K. Sahu, DIG Jammu-Kathua Range, Shakeil Ahmed Beig, Commissioner JMC, Kiran Wattal, Joint Director Information, Jammu, Smita Sethi, Chief Engineer, PHE, K.K. Gupta, Director Land Management, JDA, S. Jatinder Singh, Deputy Director RDD, S. Gurmukh Singh, SP Security, Ashok Sharma, AEE, PWD, R.S. Sudan, President District Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee (DGPC), Dalip Singh, besides senior officers of concerned departments and representatives of SGPC.
The meeting was informed that the main function would be held at Gurudwara Shri Nanak Dev Ji near Gummat Bazaar where thousands of devotees would perform prayers and attend Akhand Path followed by Shabad Kirtan and langer.
Divisional Commissioner asked the Municipal authorities to ensure cleanliness in and around the venue, Dogra Chowk to Vivekanand Chowk and clear bushes on the road side besides arrange sufficient number of dustbins and water tankers. He asked the Public Health Engineering Department to ensure uninterrupted water supply with an additional water tanker at the venue alongwith installation of temporary water taps.
Power Development Department was asked to provide uninterrupted power supply throughout the day. Fire Services would ensure availability of fire tenders at the venue and other vital points to meet any eventuality.
Similarly, Police authorities were directed to provide security cover with point wise deployment of security personal and sanitization of Gurudwara premises.
Likewise, Traffic Department was asked to ensure requisite arrangements for smooth and hassle free traffic movement and identify parking slots for parking of vehicles. Health Department was directed to provide fully equipped ambulance with first aid stationed at the venue.
The Divisional Commissioner asked functionaries of all the departments to ensure adequate and necessary arrangements well in time for smooth and colourful celebration of religious event.
