Minor, 5 cattle die in house fire at Nagseni

KISHTWAR, Feb 26: A residential building was gutted today in a fire incident here in Naunatu area leading to the death of a minor boy.
As per the police, the house of Mohammad Hanief son of Mohammad Hussain of Naunatu area of Block Nagseni was engulfed in a massive fire leading to death of an 8-year-old boy, Mohammad Irfan and 5 cattle.
After receiving the information, DC Kishtwar Dr Devansh Yadav along with SSP Khalil Poswal, Chief Medical Officer Dr M Y Mir, Deputy SP Head Quarter Ashish Gupta and SHO Kishtwar Abid Bikhari rushed to the spot and took stock of the situation.
ASI Padyarna and teams of Red Cross as well as Fire and Emergency Service took control of the situation. Local youth and PRIs played a pivotal role in the process.
The DC handed over a cheque of Rs 20,000 as immediate relief to the fire victims on the spot.
After post-mortem and completing legal formalities, the body of deceased child was handed over to family members.
DC Kishtwar said that though the loss is irreparable but administration stands with family in this tough time.
SHO Kishtwar said the cause of the fire is not known yet and further investigation has been initiated.
Tehsildar Nagseni was directed to submit the loss assessment report so that ex gratia relief was provided to the family as per SDRF norms.
