JAMMU, Nov 11: The Inter-Collegiate Hockey (Men) Tournament, organized by Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu got underway at University Hockey Field, here today.
In the inaugural match, Government Degree College (GDC) Kathua outplayed MBS College of Engineering and Technology by three goals to one ( 3-1).
Vivek Sharma, Gulshan Sharma and Manav scored goals for GDC Kathua in 11th, 56th and 67th minutes respectively, while the only goal for MBS College team was scored by Tejinder Singh in the 20th minute of the match.
Prop Dhian Singh Bhau, Director Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu was the chief guest on the inaugural function. He was introduced with the players and officials of the participating teams in the presence of Vikas Karlupia, Sanjeev Jamwal, Raj Kumar Bakshi, Nisha Sharma, Gagan Kumar, Sandeep Sharma, Manjit Singh and Prof Ashok Kumar.
The match was officiated by D Singh, Jagjit Singh, Joginder Singh, Jasbir Singh and PD Singh.
