Secy Health inaugurates Eye Block, upgraded ICU, HDU at DH Kishtwar

KISHTWAR, Mar 9: On second day of his 2-day tour to district Kishtwar, Secretary Health & Medical Education Department Bhupinder Kumar inaugurated various medical facilities viz. Eye Block, upgraded Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and High Dependency Unit (HDU) for critical Gynae patients at District Hospital (DH) Kishtwar.
Secretary Health was accompanied by Director Health Services Jammu Dr. Saleem-ur-Rehman, District Development Commissioner Kishtwar Dr Devansh Yadav and CMO Kishtwar Dr Mohd Youqub Mir.
Among others, Director Ayush Dr Mohan Singh, ADDC Kishtwar Sham Lal, MS District Hospital Kishtwar Dr Sham Lal, ACD Kishtwar Atul Dutt Sharma besides staff of the DH Kishtwar remained present on the occasion.
Pertinent to mention that newly inaugurated Eye Block constitutes Eye Ward and Eye Operation Theatre constructed under the National Blindness Control Programme (NBCP) and the ICU has been upgraded and fully equipped to ensure the quality medicare for the patients visiting the District Hospital.
Secretary H&ME also interacted with the CMO and DH Kishtwar authorities and enquired about the patient care facilities being provided in the Hospital. He directed the concerned authorities to ensure that the patients are saturated with the Ayushman Bharat scheme and urged them to process the case for the introduction of DNB course in the Hospital.
Later, Bhupinder Kumar chaired a review meeting which was attended by DC Kishtwar, President MC Sajjad Najjar, ADDC Kishtwar, ADC Kishtwar Kishori Lal Sharma, ACR Varunjeet Singh Charak, Joint Director Planning Mohd Iqbal, ACD Kishtwar, DPO Sunil Bhutiyal, EO Municipal Council Kishtwar Ninad Sen, XENs, besides other council ward members and the officers of the line departments.
During the meeting, the Secretary reviewed the physical and financial status of mega projects and various schemes under execution in the Municipal limits of Kishtwar Town. He stressed the executing agencies to speed up the pace of these developmental works to ensure timely completion of these works for improvement of public facilities in town Kishtwar.
He exhorted upon the line departments and the Municipal Council members to work in a coordinated manner to remove the encumbrance for the smooth execution of these projects besides ensure that the grievances are redressed in an effective manner. He stressed for the implementation of digital collection of revenue across the MC Kishtwar to ensure transparency and accountability.
