J&K takes on formidable Assam in CK Nayudu trophy tomorrow

JAMMU, Nov 13: After their resounding victory over equally poised Hyderabad at home on the other day, the well-knit J&K team will be locking horns with formidable Assam, which can boast of having victories in their two outings so far in the season at GGM Science College here on November 15, 2013.
While, on the one hand, Assam has a galaxy of players who have represented the State in Ranji trophy also, J&K on the other hand have a few players who have appeared in Ranji trophy. Assam have the experienced players like skipper Amrit Sinha, Rajdeep Das, Krishna Das and Prashant Sonowal in their ranks, while, on the other hand, the experience of Sahil Sharma, Amir Aziz and Umar Nazir can prove handy to Jammu and Kashmir in upsetting the rivals.
While, in the batting department, J&K will be banking on Pranav Gupta, skipper Asif Khan and all-rounders Amir Aziz and Sahil Sharma, besides opener Sidharth Mangotra, if he gets the chance, Assam on the other hand will rely on skipper and centurion in the last match Amit Sinha and Rishab Das in batting.
In bowling, J&K have the ranks of Umar Nazir, Sahil Sharma, Amir Aziz, Mehjoor Sofi, while Assam have left-arm spinner Ajay Jadhav and off-spinner Prashant Sonowal to do the trick.
Pavitra Dutta and D Hazirika are accompanying the Assam team as coach and manager, while Altaf and Qazmi are the coach and manager of Jammu Kashmir team.
The match will be officiated by SS Iyer of TNCA and Ramesh Kumar of AP as umpires, while Anil Mathur will be the match referee and Jasbir Singh, the umpire coach.
