GDC Kathua faces PG Arts in summit clash

JAMMU, Nov 13: Defeating their rivals convincingly in the respective semifinals, GDC Kathua and PG Arts, University of Jammu sealed berth in the finals of the Inter-Collegiate Hockey (Men) Tournament, being organized by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu at its Hockey Field here.
Earlier, in the 1st semifinal,  GDC Kathua defeated GDC Poonch team two goals to one (2-1) in a close contest. Akshay Sharma and Vivek Sharma scored goals for GDC Kathua in 28th and 48th minutes respectively, while the only goal for GDC Poonch was scored by Tarvinderpal Singh in the 23rd minute.
In second semifinal, PG Arts got better of MAM College by a solitary goal (1-0). Goal scorer for PG Arts was Charanjeet Singh, who netted it in 18th minute.
The matches were officiated by Joginder Singh, Jagjit Singh, D Singh, Jasbir Singh, Mahesh Sharma and P D Singh.
The Tournament is being held under the supervision of Prof Dhian S Bhau, Director, Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu.
