Police holds Cricket, Volleyball tournaments

Varanasi likely to have intl cricket stadium by next year

DODA, Mar 15: District Police under the civic action program organized Police Martyrs Cricket and Volleyball tournaments at Gandoh and Kahara respectively, here today.
The tournaments were inaugurated by SSP Abdul Qayoom in the loving memory of Police martyrs who laid down their lives for the unity, dignity and sake of the nation.
The SSP congratulated the participating teams and other participants for their enthusiastic participation in the tournament and said that it has been an endeavor of District Police to focus and involve the youth in sports activities organized every year under civic action programme (CAP), which provides a platform and opportunities to display their talent in the field of sports.
He further said that the sports activities also help to maintain the physique of youth and keep them away from the bad habits and urged upon the youth to take part in sports activities actively.
At Gandoh, the inaugural Cricket match was played between Hamalyan Bhallessa and Adil Eleven Changa (Gandoh) whereas the Volleyball match was played between Govt. Higher Secondary School Tanta Gandoh and Govt. Higher Secondary School Malanoo Gandoh at Malanoo Kahara.
The event was attended by Fatima Bano BDC Chairperson Kahara, Arun Kumar Badyal, SDM Gandoh, Adil Rishu SDPO Gandoh, Nisakul Haq, Tehsildar Gandoh, Ashfaq Hussain Tehsildar Kahara, Coy Commander 4 RR Gandoh and others.
