Srinagar, Nov 14: Jammu and Kashmir High Court today directed the Dr. Rafiq Pampori, Principal Government Medical College, Srinagar, to appear in person or by duly authorized attorney to answer all material questions for disobeying the court orders.
The court asked Dr Pampori to show cause as to why any contempt proceedings be not initiated against him.
The court had earlier directed Dr. Pampori to allow the petitioner, Dr. Javed Chowdhary, former Medical Superintendent GB Pant hospital, to perform the work against the post commensurate to his status and report compliance within two weeks before registry.
But the Principal GMC has not complied with the court orders, after which the petitioner knocked the court to seek contempt proceedings against the former “for violating the court orders.”
Dr. Chowdhary was removed from his post by the Government after hundreds of infants died in the Valley’s only tertiary childcare hospital last year.
