SRINAGAR, Nov 15: Ace Taekwondo player Kariha Javaid who has participated in various national and international Taekwondo championships through Taekwondo Association of J&K has been selected by Government of India, Ministry of Women & Child Development for National Award for Exceptional Achievements 2013.
She won gold medal in World Championship held at Malaysia in which three others players also participated and obtained 1 silver medal as well. The Taekwondo Association of J&K in its extra ordinary meeting convened here lauded the efforts of Kariha for this achievement. She was also called by the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in Srinagar soon after winning the gold medal in the said championships.
