Taekwondo tournament begins under CAP

POONCH, Mar 27: A Taekwondo tournament was organized for girls under Civic Action Programme (CAP), wherein 100 young budding players participated under the direction of SSP Rohit Baskotra, here today.
Earlier, the gathering was welcomed by Rajinder Singh, coach of the said discipline from Youth Services and Sports. Chief guest of the opening ceremony was Mohd Qasim DYSSO Poonch, while Prem Parkash Luthra-senior vice president of the Poonch Association was the guest of honour and DySP DAR Mohammad Shafiq was also present on the occasion.
The coach highlighted the achievement of the players at UT and National levels and thanked ADGP Jammu Mukesh Singh, Dr Haseeb Mughal DIG RP Range Rajouri and SSP Rohit Baskotra for including Taekwondo in their civic action programme and organizing this championship for our girls.
Taniyana Koser, Kritika Raina, Maria Akram, Ridhima Sharma and Shagufta Akhter won Gold medals, while Srijan Bakshi, Dhravya Dutta, Ahida Fatima, Tejasvin Kour and Anvisha Sharma secured Silver medals during the championship.
The bouts were held under the technical supervision of coach Rajinder Singh with the help of Jatinder Paul, Gurpreet Singh, Sandeep Kumar, Aashiq Hussain Akarshit Sudan and Vishvas Sudan.
