JAMMU, Nov 20: In the much publicized case the court on its own motion Public Interest Litigation regarding shortage of LPG, Division Bench of High Court comprising Chief Justice MM Kumar and Justice Hasnain Massodi today directed the State to file latest status report.
After hearing Senior Advocate DC Raina with Advocate Ananta Raina whereas Additional Advocate General Seema Shekhar for the State, the DB observed, “the matter pertains to distribution of LPG cylinders and ensuring their supply particularly during inclement cold weather in remote areas of the State”.
“In various orders comprehensive directions were issued. However, last order was passed on April 23, 2013. The matter has come up for hearing after about seven months”, the DB said and directed the respondents to file latest status with regard to various issues which have already been highlighted in various orders.
“The needful shall be done within two weeks”, the DB said and directed the Registry to list the PIL on December 12.
