UDHAMPUR, Nov 20: Som Nath, Jammu Province vice president of PHE Employees Association appealed the Minister for PHE & I&FC, Sham Lal Sharma and the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to provide justice to the PHE workers who have been awaiting justice since long.
Som Nath made this appeal while addressing a largely attended rally of PHE employees and workers at Chenani today in which employees and workers from far flung area including Mansar, Majalta, Kaghote, Dehari, Kulwanta, Kaita-Majouri, Gandtop, Basantgarh, Dudu, Chowki Jandrore etc participated.
The procession started from tehsil office Ramnagar, passed through main streets and culminated near PHE Sub Division Ramnagar in the shape of a rally, wherein senior trade union leaders criticized the Government towards genuine demands of its employees.
Besides regularization of all daily wagers the other demands raised in the rally pertained to release of wages of all daily wagers, CP workers, imprest and estimate workers who are without wages for the past 16 to 18 months; benefit of SRO 64 with regard to daily wagers, ITI and non-ITI trained workers; stoppage to direct recruitment of Class IV employees till all workers were regularized; change of designation as per nature of job being done by them; holding of DPC which has not been convened for the past 15 years; promotion of experienced and qualified employees etc; and release of 10 percent DA in favour of Government employees.
Besides, Som Nath others who spoke included Vijay Kumar, Suraj Parkash, Subash Chander, Ashok Kumar, Makhan Chand, Krishan Chand, Shiv Lal Pathania, Kuldeep Kumar, Balbir Singh, Raj Kumar, Amardev Singh, Bhart Singh, Om Parkash, Onkar Singh, Rattan Lal, Kulwant Singh, Prabhu Dayal etc.
