GDC Bishnah organizes Debate Contest

JAMMU, Nov 21: The NSS Unit of Government Degree College (GDC) Bishnah, organized a Debate Contest on the topic “Role of NSS Volunteers in National Integration” to mark the celebration of Quami Ekta Week, here.
The event was held under the Convenership of Prof Sunita Gupta and guidance of Dr Savtanter Kour, NSS Programme Officer.
Prof Kalpana Kesar, Principal of the College was the chief guest on the occasion.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Dr Savtanter Kour and compared by Pooja Manhas of BA Part-III.
8 NSS Volunteers participated in the Debate Contest and threw light on the importance of being united inspite of different caste, creed and religion.
Pooja Manhas of BA Part-III, Pooja Devi of BA Part-II and Monika Kaith of BA Part-II were adjudged as 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively by the panel of judges comprising of Prof Archana Bakshi, Prof Sunita Gupta and Dr Suman Charak.
Mangat Ram of BA Part-II sung a patriotic song.
Principal of the College, Prof Kalpana Kesar lauded the efforts of the students and motivated them to follow the path of brotherhood for the cause of Unity in Diversity.
The function concluded with the National Song “Saare Jahan Se Acha Hindustan Hamara” presented by Principal, Staff and NSS Unit of the College.
Prof Preeti Dogra presented vote of thanks.
