JAMMU, Apr 11: Sports is on top priority of Union Government headed by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and that is why J&K is witnessing massive infrastructural development in terms of construction of modern day cricket stadiums, sports complexes and Khelo India programmes being implemented in a big way.
This was stated by Yudhvir Sethi, J&K BJP vice president after the culmination of 3rd T20 Exhibition Night Cricket Match at MA Stadium Jammu.
Congratulating the participating teams, Sethi said such sports events strengthens the cultural bonds between communities and conveys a message of maintaining communal harmony among communities in ensuring peace and prosperity of the society.
He said such sports events will enable to identify talent amongst youngsters and will also keep the young generation away from evils of society like drugs and liquor. Sethi appealed to the youth to make sports an inseparable part of their routine in order to ensure a healthy body and mind and stay away from drugs.
Priya Sethi, while lauding the players for showing sportsmanship, said that J&K has started touching new heights in the fields of sports and the names of sportspersons belonging to the J&K UT are surfacing at national and international arenas of sports.
Earlier, the 3rd T20 Exhibition Night Cricket Match was organized by All J&K Sports & Cultural Welfare Association Jammu under the chairmanship of David Masih and Yousuf Don on the eve of Easter. The cricket match was sponsored by CADD Centre Trikuta Nagar.
The T20 match was played between New Plot Cricket Club and Spartan Cricket Club in which New Plot Cricket Club won the match by 3 wickets.  Manpreet Singh was announced as man of the match.
Jai Dev Rajwal, BJP leader, Nitish Mahajan, Co-Incharge BJP Social Media Department, Corporator Nidhi Malhotra, Corporator Anil Masoom, Anjali Chopra MD CADD Centre, Pastor Subhey, Amit George, Ankita Gupta, Branch Manager Yes Bank and SS Bunty treasurer were present during the event.
Later, Yudhvir Sethi along with Priya Sethi distributed trophies among the winning team and appreciated both the team for displaying spirit of sportsmanship.
