JAMMU, Nov 22: Prof Mohan Paul Singh Ishar, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu flagged off Jammu University Employees Cricket Team in a well attended function, here today.
The Team going to participate in the upcoming All India Vice-Chancellor’s T-20 Cricket Cup to be held in Punjabi University, Patiala from November 25 to December 5, 2013.
Conveying his good wishes to the members of the team Prof Ishar hoped that team will fare well in the national tournament and bring laurels to the Jammu University.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Team had reached the finals of the tournament held last year in Jammu University. Moreover, the University of Jammu has won this tournament twice in 2009 and 2010 in Mumbai and in Srinagar respectively.
The tournament is played on League-cum-Knockout format and 20 teams from allover the Country are participating in this prestigious Tournament.
The team: Dr Daud Iqbal Baba (Captain), Ameet Targotra (Vice-Captain), Dr Parikshit Singh Manhas, Akash Bhola, Rajesh Verma, Vishal Sudan, Noor-ul-Asrar-Beg, Sumit Sharma, Pawan Singh, Niranjan Singh Charak, Dr Sandeep Arya, Sandeep Bakshi, Surinder Singh, Shammi Bhagat, Ram Singh Rajkumar Bakshi, Coach-cum-Player, Sunil Sahi, Manager, Parvesh Ratta, Assistant Manager.
Among others present on the occasion were Prof Dhian Singh Bhau, Director, Directorate of Sports & Physical Education, Jaikumar Sharma, Special Secretary to Vice-Chancellor, Vinay Thusoo, PRO and Imran Farooq, PRO.
