JAMMU, June 18: Aided with superb display of batting by elegant left-handed batsman Shubam Singh Pundir and right-hander Tribuvan Singh, the JKCA Blues team thrashed SGCC by a huge margin of 188 runs to advance in the ongoing Under-16 Cricket Tournament, being organized by the Jammu wing of Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here.
Batting first, JKCA Blues scored a formidable total of 261 runs in the stipulated 40 overs, losing 7 wickets in the process. Shubam Singh Pundir played a magnificent innings of 74 runs off 70 balls, which included 11 delectable boundaries, while Tribuvan Singh also played an equally good knock of 55 runs in 55 balls. Vikas Mehra and Jaidatya also contributed 33 and 24 runs to the total respectively. For SGCC, Shashdeep Singh scalped 3 wickets, while Ashish Thakur claimed 2 and Rishab took one.
SGCC, in reply, bundled out for a paltry total of 73 runs in 22.5 overs, thus lost the match by a huge margin of 188 runs. Arjun Sharma (15) and Gagandeep Singh (13*) were the main contributors. For JKCA Blues, Aman Sharma was the wrecker-in-chief, who claimed 4 important wickets, while Shivam captured 3 wickets. Ajay Sharma also bagged 2 wickets and Shubam Pundir picked one.
The match was officiated by Rajeev Sharma and Ajit Kumar as umpires, while Gourav Jamwal maintained the scorebook.
