Zinc futures down 0.59 pc on global cues, sluggish demand

NEW DELHI, Nov 25:  Amid a weak trend in the global markets and sluggish domestic demand, Zinc futures prices fell 0.59 per cent to Rs 118.80 per kg today as participants reduced positions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in November traded lower by 70 paise, or 0.59 per cent, to Rs 117.95 per kg, with a business turnover of 261 lots.
The metal for delivery in December fell by a similar margin at Rs 118.80 per kg in a turnover of 21 lots.
Marketmen said the fall in zinc prices at futures trade was mostly in line with a weakening trend in the base metals overseas on concern that the Federal Reserve may start reducing stimulus in coming months amid improving US economic data, reducing the demand outlook for the metals. (PTI)
