JAMMU, Apr 29: National Book launch of “Wings of Wonder” was done by the very prestigious publisher Scholastic India Pvt. Limited at Jodhamal School, here.
A Pan India mentoring program was conducted by Scholastic India spread over six months under this program mentorship of Literary Experts was available to the students and this was done to hone the writing skills of budding authors.
Students of more than 500 Schools all over India took the young writers selection test. 20 stories of the selected 20 authors were shortlisted and published in ‘Wings of Wonder’.
The Jodhamal School had the very unique distinction of having seven students selected in a group of 20 students Pan India.
The seven selected students and their stories are Subah Sharma (The Mystery of the Walking Doll), Syed Ibrahim (The Shroomy Adventure of Two Siblings), Swasti Gupta (Weaving of a Golden Dream), Gurvansh Singh Raina (Adventures of the Outsider), Ahmed Ayaan (Disguise), Neerek Mahajan (The Perfect Advice) and Suhana Sharma (Adventures of the Underworld).
Other selected students were from prestigious schools like Vasant Valley School, New Delhi, Pathways School, Gurgaon, Lotus Valley International School, Gurgaon and leading schools from Bangalore, Mumbai, Kolkata and Delhi.
Keeping in view the number of Jodhamal School who were selected, the publisher asked the Trustee, Nandan Kuthiala to write the foreword to the book. Naveen Kumar Singh, General Manager of Scholastic India released the book in the Open Air Theatre of Jodhamal in presence of Nandan Kuthiala, Principal Girish Kumar and Vice Principal Shefali Sanwal.
The Teacher In-charges for the young writers’ academy activities Anjali Gupta, Rimjhim Mahajan and Neha Sharma were also present.
Naveen Kumar Singh had an interactive session with the students and complimented the faculty of the School on the amazing achievement of their student authors.
