JAMMU, Apr 29: Army Public School Rakhmuthi organized a function with full enthusiasm in the School Auditorium, wherein Chairman APS Rakhmuthi graced the occasion as chief guest, here today.
School Principal, Shaswati Ghosh welcomed the chief guest. The programme commenced with lighting of traditional lamp as a tribute to mother ‘Saraswati’ followed by group song and dance performance that enthralled the audience.
The day saw a flurry of hectic preparations for the event. The function was solemnized with chief guest conferring the authority and adorning the symbols to the office bearers of students’ council. Taking the oath, the School Head Girl Sonakshi Sharma of class 12, Head Boy Akshit Sharma of class 12 along with the Vice Head Girl, Vice Head Boy, Captains of all the four houses – Patel, Gandhi, Ambedkar and Nehru pledged their commitment to choose harder right instead of the easier wrong. They also pledged to abide by the rules and regulations of their alma mater.
The function culminated with prize distribution to academic toppers by the chief guest. The chief guest eloquently addressed the gathering with his views of futuristic vision and conveyed the necessity of co-curricular activities along with academic learning.
He also reminded the students the role of leaders and their sanctimonious duties towards the School and inspired them to become the role models for their peers and juniors and live up to their expectations.
The day culminated in a beautiful resonance with the National Anthem, lingering in everybody’s mind.
