4 member Gujarat Police team arrive Jammu to supervise Modi’s rally

JAMMU, Nov 28:
A four-member team of top ranked officers of Gujarat Police today arrived IN the winter capital to supervise the security arrangements ahead of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Lalkar Rally’ scheduled for December 1 here.
Top ranked officers from Gujarat Police comprising Inspector General of Police and three Deputy Inspectors General reached Jammu this morning, sources said.
They said the officers will supervise the security situation for the rally in assistance with the State Police and other security agencies.
However, the venue Maulana Azad Stadiums has been cordoned and troops have been deployed in and around for incident free conduct of the rally.
Special pickets have been raised along the banks of river Tawi and the GGM Science College, close to the venue to keep check on any “unwanted” movement.
Meanwhile, sources in the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) said there will be no ticket system for the visitors attending the  rally.
As in some of the states, ticket system was introduced for the people attending the rally but in Jammu, entry will be free and all are welcome to take part in the rally, sources added.
Jammu is in upbeat mood ahead of Modi’s rally as BJP has launched mega campaign to invite people in large in the rally.
Posters have been pasted around the city walls besides the vehicles while the City of Temples has turned saffron with party flags fixed everywhere. (AGENCIES)
