JAMMU, Nov 28: Saying that education is the key to overall development of the State, the Speaker Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Mubarak Gul underscored the need for imparting quality and job oriented education to the students with focus on moral education.
Addressing at the Annual Day function of SOS Hermanng Gmeiner School (HMS) Jammu here, Gul said that in modern era where our students have to face different competitive challenges have to work hard for bringing excellence in curricular and co-curricular activities.
He said our students have good talent and there is only need to mold this talent in a proper manner.
Highlighting the importance of sports activities, Gul stressed upon the student community to pay special heed on co-curricular activities must for building sound mind and well physic.
The Speaker while describing the role of students in protecting the environment, he said that the students can play a pivotal role in this regard by educating the society about the causes of hazards of environment. He appealed the people try to plant trees to save the environment.
Earlier, the Principal of the Institution, R. K. Dhar presented annual report and highlighted the activities of the school.
Later, Gul distributed prizes and mementos among the meritorious students of the Institution.
The students of the institutions presented cultural verity programmes which mesmerized the audience and received applause by everyone present on the occasion.
Chairman, J&K Migrant Cell, Ashok Koul, prominent citizens, staff members, teachers, parents and large number of students were present on the occasion.f
