JAMMU, May 7: Shaheed Bhagat Singh Club (Men) and Sahara Club (Women) won 1st Shaheed Bhagat Singh Tennikoit Championship titles, organized by Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh Foundation and District Jammu Tennikoit Association, here today.
Satnam Singh international Hockey player was the chief guest and Anil Kumar Sharma Manager Green Field Playground was the guest of honour on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest stressed upon to create more infrastructures for the unconventional games which need more attention, so that they (players) can compete at international level.
He further said that this game needs stamina with speed and skill which was seen during the matches. All the players gave their best during the championship.
Dr. Taran Singh, president shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh Foundation was also present on the occasion along with Angat Singh general secretary District Jammu Tennikoit Association and Gurmeet Kour SAI coach.
Anjali (coach) conducted the prize distribution ceremony at the end of matches.
In the women section, Sahara Club defeated Shaheed Bhagat Singh Club and won the championship by a margin of 26-24 points, while in the men section, the final match was played between Shaheed Bhagat Singh Club and Green Field Club which was won by SBS Club by a margin of 25-23.
