Woman killed, 8 injured in road accidents

DODA/KISHTWAR, May 9: A woman lost her life while four others were injured in a road accident at Satwas road here today.
A police officer told the Excelsior that the accident took place at Pul-Doda when a car of Celerio make bearing registration number JK06-1453 fell in a gorge.
“Five persons received injuries but one Payal Devi, wife of, Sandep Singh, among them died before she could be evacuated to the hospital,” he informed adding: “Other four injured persons were Sandeep Singh, son of Rattan Singh, resident of Satwas Paryot in Doda; Santosha Devi, wife of Vicky, resident of Jammu; Arundeep Rakwal, son of Rajinder Singh, resident of Satwas and Prayanshi Devi, daughter of Sandeep Singh, resident of Satwas.”
All the injured were shifted to Government Medical College (GMC) Doda for treatment.
Police has taken a cognizance of the incident and started investigation.
Meanwhile, 4 persons were injured when the vehicle they were travelling in rolled down in Machpal area on Gundoh-Thathri Road in Kishtwar.
Police sources informed that a car of Tata Sumo make bearing registration number JK17-6749 coming from Pashalla and moving towards Thathri fell into a gorge near Machipal leaving four persons injured.
All the injured were shifted to PHC Thathri from where they were referred to GMC Doda for specialized treatment.
The injured were identified as Balal Ahmed, son of Bashir Ahmed, resident of Nagini; Mohd Yousaf, son of Bashir Ahmed, resident of Nagini; Sunil Kumar, son of Bansi Lal, resident of Khallan Thathri and Mohd Yousaf, son of Noor Mohammad, resident of Pashalla
