JAMMU, May 9: In a move to extend the political outreach and intensify membership drive, Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) began a four day tour of Ramban constituency.
During the tour the senior political leaders including vice chairman GM Saroori, general secretary RS Chib, Provincial president Jugal Kishore Sharma, chief spokesperson Salman Nizami, Zonal president PR Manhas, Arun Singh Raju- Secretary, Th Dharam Chand District president, Farooq Katoch – Provincial vice president, Ch Farooq-secretary and others would meet the people, apprise them of the party agenda.
“The tour is aimed to meet the people, discuss with them and apprise them of our political agenda. We would also listen them and understand their issues and problems and subsequently seek their redressal from the concerned authorities,” vice chairman GM Saroodi said.
He said the tour of leadership will continue for four days. However, in some days, party chairman Ghulam Nabi Azad would be addressing a massive gathering in the constituency.
Chib said that the Ramban constituency needs a lot more to be done and it is ignored by the successive governments though they have come and exploited the people politically. ” If we count here the mega projects which have been in the larger interests of people, all of them are sanctioned during the tenure of Ghulam Nabi Azad when he was the Chief Minister. Since then no such big projects are approved or build up to benefit the people,” he said.
“If we are elected to power, we promise under the dynamic leadership of Ghulam Nabi Azad Ramban district would be developed as a model district in Jammu and Kashmir,” Jugal Kishore said.
He said given the developmental and infrastructural works undertaken by the government of Ghulam Nabi Azad previously, the people are very grateful and desiring for the return of same era. He said the membership drive would be intensified in the district and our district leadership is already working on that.
Fayaz Naik DDC and Zonal vice president, Dr Asif Khanday Zonal vice president, lyas Banihali, Munner Bhatt, Danish Choudhary, Arif Salaria, Sheikh Shabir, Girdhari Lal Bahu, Bhudi Singh Manhas and others were also present.
