NEW DELHI, May 11: Colonel (retd) Mahan Singh, DDC Chairman, Kathua today led a delegation to Union Ministers, Nitin Gadkari and Dr Jitendra Singh, and highlighted the issues and demands of the people of Kathua district.
At the outset of the meeting, the DDC Chairman gave an overview of the problems being confronted by the people of the district. Later, he presented point-wise details of the issues and demands of the people.
Colonel Mahan demanded underpass at Janglote Morh, establishment of new branches of J&K Bank in the district, construction of a highway connecting Kathua-Billawar-Bani-Fatepur Bhandar-Himachal Pradesh, fast-tracking of Bharatmala road project, state of the art Sports Stadium in Hiranagar town, GI tagging of Basohli Pashmina and many more.
He said that these demands of the people are the most genuine ones and therefore the concerned ministers should give a nod to these projects to make the lives of people of Kathua district full of convenience and meaningful.
After listening to the demands raised by the Kathua delegation led by Col Mahan Singh, both the Union Ministers assured that they have noted down the issues highlighted during the meeting and shall take up the same on priority. They appreciated Col Mahan for showing dedication and sincerity towards the people of Kathua and doing herculean job in satiating the aspirations of the people.
Those who accompanied Col Mahan include Raghunandan Bablu DDC Vice Chairman , Bharat Bhushan DDC Chairman Jammu, Keshav Dutt DDC Chairman Samba, and Danater Singh DDC Chairman Doda.
