RTO recovers fine worth Rs 7.62 lakhs from violators

JAMMU, May 14: A team of Motor Vehicles Department headed by RTO, Jammu, Pankaj Bhagotra laid special naka at different locations on Jammu-Pathankot National Highway and recovered Rs 7.62 lakhs as fine from the violators under Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and Central Motor Vehicles Rules 1989.
RTO Jammu and his teams led by four ARTOs during last one week period, checked nearly 350 vehicles, which include buses, tippers, trucks, school buses and Tempo travellers for various offences like route permit violations, over loading, over speeding, protruding of rods, without uniform, over height, disobedience, without pollution under control certificate, without high security registration number plate, without driving license etc., out of which 131 vehicles were challaned/compounded. An amount of Rs 4.32 lakhs was realised on spot from violators and Rs 3.30 lakhs is expected from the remaining challans.
The enforcement team included Rehana Tabassum ARTO (HQ), Jammu; Esha Chib ARTO (G), Kuldeep Singh ARTO (P), Neeraj Sharma, ARTO (Flying Squad), Motor vehicles Inspectors- Surinder Kumar, Vikas Srivats and Jasbir Singh.
