JAMMU, May 16: Baba Deep Singh Cricket Club (BDSCC) registered a thumping victory over Jammu Sports Cricket Club by 7 wickets and sailed into the semifinals of ongoing Ravi Kant Gupta Memorial Veteran T-20 Cricket Tournament, being played at Parade Ground, here today.
After winning the toss, Jammu Sports elected to bat first and scored 118 runs by losing 8 wickets in stipulated 20 overs. Munish Sharma was the top scorer who scored 47 runs with five boundaries and one six. Mukesh Sharma and Ravinder Singh contributed 23 and 18 runs respectively while remaining unbeaten.
From the bowling side, Kapil Deol took 3 wickets, while Vicky Raina and Kuldeep Singh shared 2 wickets each and Sherry got one wicket.
In reply, Baba Deep Singh Club easily chased the set target by losing only 3 wickets in 11.1 overs. Naseer made 18 runs, Gurpreet Singh scored 12 runs and Puneet Watal was the top scorer who made unbeaten 39 runs and Balbir Singh contributed 25 runs.
Kapil Deol was declared as man of the match.
