JAMMU, Dec 1: Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM), Jammu organized an impressive and well attended function to celebrate its Foundation Day, here today.
On this occasion, Dr KS Krishnan, Scientist, National Centre for Biological Sciences, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Bangalore was the chief guest.
Earlier, a lecture entitled “Chemistry is the Language when Animals and Plants” by Dr K S Krishnan, made a spell bound presentation about the identification and characterization of bio-active molecules from venom of marine cone snails, frog skin secretions and wasp venom obtained from variety of organisms.
Earlier Dr Ram Vishwakarma, Director IIIM Jammu, eulogized the work done by Dr K S Krishnan on neuro-active compounds from a variety of organisms.
On the occasion, Dr Ram Vishwakarma also highlighted the achievements of the IIIM, Jammu. The institute organized a week long celebrations which included indoor and outdoor games and different cultural events.
IIIM staff, their family members and students participated in Cricket, Badminton, Volley Ball, Carrom and Chess matches and exhibited their talent in the variety of cultural programmes.
The winners and best performers were awarded by the chief guest.
