JAMMU, May 20: Jammu Doctors Forum (JDF) has expressed concern over the clash between medical students of GMC Jammu a few days back over the movie “The Kerala Story”.
President of Jammu Doctors Forum Dr Satya Dev Gupta in a statement has stated that this incident shouldn’t be seen in isolation but as a continuity of series of such incidents taking place in GMC Jammu hostel since last so many years. It is a well known fact that certain anti-national and radicalized elements have been instigating such clashes during India Pakistan Cricket matches too and visits of religious preachers in the hostel premises of GMC Jammu adds fuel to such fire, he added.
“JDF has taken serious notice of allegations of attempts being made by religious preachers in GMC Jammu hostel to convert the young medical students who are in a tender age of getting easily molded and has appealed the Principal GMC Jammu to hold thorough enquiry (by appointing a committee) into such allegations along with issuing immediate orders of ban of entry of religious preachers of any faith in the premises of GMC Jammu Hostel,” Dr Gupta said.
The JDF president urged GMC Jammu authorities to conduct enquiry of the latest clash in a time bound and impartial manner so that no innocent medical student is harmed and the culprits are not spared.
