JU in All India VCs Cup T20 finals

JAMMU, Dec 2: Team effort helped University of Jammu to storm into finals of the All India Vice Chancellors Cup T20 Cricket Tournament, defeating Kashmir University by 32 runs.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss Jammu University scored 142 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 7 wickets in the process. Niranjan top scored with unbeaten 38 runs, while Rajkumar Bakshi, Daud Iqbal Baba and Vishal contributed 29, 22 and 17 runs respectively.
In reply, Kashmir University bundled out for 110 runs to lose the match by 32 runs. Riyaz and Ashraf scored 27 and 15 runs respectively. For University of Jammu, Daud Iqbal Baba, Niranjan, Rajesh and Pawan Singh scalped 2 wickets each, while Rajkumar claimed 1 wicket. Niranjan Singh Sonu was adjudged man of the match.
University of Jammu will lock horns with Patiala University in Punjab on December 4, 2013. Prof Dhian Singh Bhau, Director, Sports and Physical Education and Sunil Sahi, manager team have lauded the efforts of the team for this achievement.
