JAMMU, May 25: Four Gymnasts of Jammu and Kashmir have been selected for World Championship, Asian Championship and FIG International Cup.
During the recently held National selection trials at Allahabad, Muskan Rana shall lead who along with Manya Sharma of J&K got selected to represent the Country in the Juniors World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships (an official event of the International Gymnastics Federation) to be held at Cluj- Napuca Romania from July 7-9.
Vaibhavi Sharma of J&K too has been selected to represent Country for Part 6 in the Asian Junior Rhythmic Gymnastic Championship being held at Manila-Philippines from 30 May – 3 June. Another Gymnast from J&K Jagriti Thakur got selected for FIG International Cup at Budapest-Hungary from 29-30 June.
All these selectees are the trainee at Sports Council’s Gymnastics Academy, MA Stadium, Jammu.
Further, Gymnastics Federation of India has nominated the Incharge of the Academy Krupali Singh to accompany the team as its coach for Junior World and Asian Championships whereas Mitali has been nominated as coach of the team going to participate in FIG Juniors International Cup at Budapest – Hungary.
Today in the Gymnastics Academy, Kiran Wattal (president, Gymnastics Association of J&K) interacted with the selected gymnasts and congratulated them as well as their coaches.
While speaking on the occasion, Wattal (who is also vice president of the Gymnastics Federation of India) said that the J&K administration under the leadership of LG Manoj Sinha has achieved the new heights and J&K has become the sports hub in the Country.
