JAMMU, May 28: With a view to give fillip to the popular game of Indian origin ‘Roll Ball’ which is played with skates, a two days training cum foundation camp was organized by J&K Roll Ball Association and Udhampur District Roll Ball Association (DRBA) under the patronage of Ashok Kumar, vice president J&K Roll Ball Association and Madhu Khajuria, senior functionary and National Coach of India.
In all 190 players in categories of Under-19, 17, 14 and 12 years drawn from Army Public School Udhampur, Little Angels High School, Ever Green Academy and India Kids participated.
The training was conducted under the guidance of Khushi Gupta and Suvidha Sareen, both international players; Sameer Gupta, National Medalist; Samuel Khokar and Maneer.
The trainees were imparted basic training and coaching in fundamental skills, team composition, systems of play, duration and rules-regulations of the game.
Vimal Sharma, vice president DRBA; Surinder Kumar joint secretary DRBA; Gurmeet Singh, Rajan Kumar, Suresh Manhas and Mohan Lal also contributed in a big way.
