POONCH, May 29: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Yasin M. Choudhary today conducted an extensive tour of LoC Village Degwar Terwan/ Dara-Bagyal and inspected the development projects and schools in the area.
The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by AEE PMGSY, Er. Sikander Choudhary and other concerned officers. Sarpanch Bagyaldara Choudhary Mohammad Akbar and locals of the area interacted with the DC and projected developmental demands of the area.
The Sarpanch and locals raised various issues related to infrastructure, health, education and connectivity. The Deputy Commissioner gave a patient hearing and assured them that their genuine concerns would be addressed on priority.
During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner inspected the PMGSY Dara-bagyal Terwan road constructed under new technology i.e; RBI 81 grade, first in Poonch as well as in Jammu region. He also initiated the blacktopping work on the said road. The start of blacktopping work on the PMGSY Dara-bagyal Terwan road is a positive step towards improving connectivity and accessibility to the area.
The Deputy Commissioner also visited several schools in the area, including the Government High School Degwar Terwan, Government Middle school Dalaan and Government Primary School Dalaan.
During the visit to the schools, the Deputy Commissioner interacted with the students and assessed the quality of education being imparted to them. He emphasized the importance of providing the best education facilities to the students. He directed the staff to ensure that the mid-day meal provided to the students is of good quality and as per prescribed standards.
He also checked the biometric attendance system introduced to ensure accountability in the education system.
Meanwhile, Sarpanch and locals thanked the Deputy Commissioner for visiting the Border area and AEE PMGSY Er Sikander Choudhary for completing the PMGSY road and starting the blacktopping work.
