JAMMU, May 30: The Department of Youth Services and Sports Zone-Akhnoor today kick started the Inter-Panchayat Zonal Level competitions for boys of 19 to 35 years age group in the sports disciplines of Kabaddi and Volleyball, at an impressive on the ground of Government High School (GHS) Devipur.
DDC Bhalwal Brahmana Bhushan Bral was the chief guest on the occasion. Incharge ZPEO Akhnoor Ashok Kumar, on the occasion, raised awareness among the participants regarding the ill effects of drugs. He asked players to start this campaign from their homes and make sure the campaign reaches their closest ones.
The programme was also attended by Incharge Headmaster GHS Devipur Som Nath, Sarpanch Devipur Ganesh Dass and Ex Sarpanch Devipur Chamal Lal Khajuria. After his speech, all staff along with participants took a pledge against the use of any sort of drug.
At least 100 players drawn from different panchayats of Zone Akhnoor participated today in the discipline of Kabaddi. In the final match, Panchayat Gandharwan emerged as winner.
