SRINAGAR, May 30: The Department of Youth Services & Sports J&K organized an exhilarating trekking expedition in the picturesque Gurez Valley of Bandipora district.
A total of 60 students, both boys and girls of HS Chorwan, participated in the trekking expedition, which was coordinated by the Zonal Physical Education Office Gurez. Under the supervision of dedicated officials of Youth Services & Sports, the students eagerly embarked on this adventure, ready to explore the stunning landscapes and delve into the natural beauty of the Habba Khatun Mountains.
Joint Director Kashmir of the Youth Services and Sports Department Waseem Raja said that the best part of the trekking expedition was students’ vibrant display of the local Shina cultural program. “As they were trekking through the mesmerizing landscape, the students showcased their talents by performing traditional music using indigenous musical instruments. The melodic tunes resonated through the Valley, creating an atmosphere of joy and cultural celebration” he added.
DYSSO Bandipora Nazir Ahmad Bhat said that such initiatives not only promote physical fitness and adventure but also foster a sense of pride and appreciation for the rich cultural heritage of the region.
