APS Rakhmuthi hosts Mock G20 session

JAMMU, June 9: Army Public School, Rakhmuthi today hosted a Mock-G20 session in the school auditorium.
The Chairman, Army Public School Rakhmuthi was the chief guest on this occasion who was accompanied by Principal, Shaswati Ghosh and vice principal, Sonia Kumari. The mock session was initiated with the participation of 30 students from various grades. Each delegate represented a G20 member country and assumed the role of a high-ranking Government official.
The purpose of the mock summit was to simulate the annual G20 Summit, allowing participants to discuss and propose solutions to global challenges and foster international cooperation. The mock session focused on crucial global issues, including economic stability, cyber security, and sustainable development.
To facilitate comprehensive discussions, the delegates were divided into committees, including the Education Working Committee, Women Lead Development, Technological Transformation and Digital Public Infrastructure and Sustainable Development Goals.
The summit commenced with a keynote address by India wherein it recognized the importance of promoting women’s access to quality education, vocational training, and STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) fields, aiming to bridge the gender gap. The participants recognized the transformative potential of digital technologies and discussed policies to promote digital inclusion, privacy and security. The representative countries shared their insights on the innumerable challenges faced by the World.
Chairman of the school highlighted the invaluable platform of the Mock-G20 summit provided for young leaders to engage in constructive dialogue and propose solutions to pressing global issues. A farewell was also accorded to the Chairman of the school by the principal, staff, and the students during the event.
“The Chairman is a man of action, a decision-maker and well-versed in the school system. His generosity has left an indelible mark on the school fraternity”, Shaswati Ghosh, the Principal said.
