JAMMU, June 11: Prarna Charak, Payal Sharma and Shagun Sharma of Government College for Women, Parade, Jammu who secured the first three positions in the women’s category in the first round of the Sunday Series of Sport Climbing Competitions held on June 4 retained their respective positions in the 2nd round of the competition conducted today.
However, in the Junior boys category, Aradhya Manhas who had secured 3rd rank in the first round of the ‘Sunday Series’ emerged victorious today pushing the champion of the 1st round Harman Samnotra to second place. Saksham Slathia, the runner up of the 1st round thus slipped into the 3rd place in the 2nd round.
Only 44 climbers participated in different categories of the 2nd round of the Sunday Series of Sport Climbing competition because of inclement weather. The competition was organised under the overall supervision of Shawetica Khajuria, General Secretary of Tawi Trekkers J&K.
President, Tawi Trekkers J&K Ram Khajuria also remained present and keenly watched the performance of the budding climber. The 3rd round of the competition shall be conducted on 18th June.
