‘Vocal for Local’ exhibition held in HPS

JAMMU, June 12: Humanity Public School, Bassi Kalan, Bari Brahmana in collaboration with Shilpkari Bazaar a unit for promoting “Be Vocal for Local” organised a one day exhibition of Handicraft in the school premises.
The purpose of organising the exhibition was to support the local artists and manufacturing of local art, goods not only at national level but at global level.
Gaurav Charak, Principal of the school urged his school staff and parents to buy more of local products. He expressed his concern towards the nature and said that these products are eco-friendly and nontoxic to environment. The art will surely help the younger generation to know their local traditions and culture very well. These small-scale industries will also help in generating employment to many people.
Sanchaita Pradhan and Arnab Khajuria the renowned artists and well-known figure in the field of Handicrafts and Handlooms displayed many unique and exclusive designed products both useful and eco-friendly. Canned planters flower vases, jewellery and lamp shades depicting Jammu’s rich heritage in Basholi painting were exquisite.
Anku Charak, the Vice-Principal said, “If we purchase local goods, many poor artisans or weavers who are involved in these small-scale industries will get boost. She hoped that such exhibition which has been started to promote “Be Vocal for Local” will be stronger and stronger with the time.”
