JAMMU, Dec 8: MV International School bagged the State Speedball Championship, organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports and J&K Speedball Association at M A Stadium, here.
Minister for Medical Education and Youth Services and Sports, Taj- Mohi-ud-Din was the chief guest on the occasion.
The other dignitaries present on the occasion were Director General Youth Services and Sports, Navin Aggarwal, chairman J&K Speedball Association Vijay Gupta, Director M V International School, Gaurav Abrol, Principal APS Akhnoor, KCS Mehta, Principal MV International BN Sarkar and Retd DC Excise Vijay Kumar Sharma.
500 players from 20 schools participated in the championship, wherein MV International School won the overall trophy by clinching 8 gold, 7 silver and 19 bronze medals.
Players of M V International School namely Ujjwal Slathia, Mansi Slathia, Samrita Slathia and Himanshu Sharma claimed first rank in junior teams.
In Under-8, Rohtaj stood 2nd and Abrokin Dingra stood 3rd; in Under-10, Hanshika Jamwal and Nivedita claimed 3rd position; in Under-12 Rohit stood 1st, Vikas Verma & Adeevi stood 2nd while Atul Sharma bag 3rd position; in Under-14 Kanika Chadgal claimed top rank.
In the boys doubles, Vishal & Agrim stood 2nd while Vishav and Sparsh got 4th rank.
In girls’ doubles, Manvi Bandral and Mansi Jamwal got 1st position, while Ravinder Kour and Ankita Choudhary stood 2nd.
In mixed doubles, Aditi and Hari Om bagged 2nd position, while Sonia and Pritham settled at 4th. All the participants of the school contributed their best in enabling the school team to win the Champion Trophy.
