JAMMU, Dec 8: Heritage School celebrates ‘Mosaic’ the IX Sports Day of primary wing in a grand celebration.
The programme started with the welcome address by the chief guest Vandana Jasrotia, Headmistress and march past by the students of class III, IV, V. Earlier, the chief guest hoisted the Sports Flag and declared open the Sports meet open with the lighting of the sports lamp.
On the occasion, K Rajendra Kumar (IPS) DG Prisons J&K, was the chief guest and Balwant Thakur, Padamshree, Regional Director, Indian Council for Cultural Relations, Jammu, was the guest of honour. Other dignitaries were Devender Singh Rana, MLC, Aijaz Ahmed Khan, Minister of State for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Vijaya Rajendra, Deepika Thakur, Gunjan Rana, K Manicka Raj (IAS) and Dr Yogita Rana (IAS).
It was a day full of exciting and innovative races like-dribbling the ball Race, stitch in time saves nine, Zig-Zag race, fetching the toys, learn and run race, human-wheel-burrow race etc.
The winners of the various races were felicitated by distinguished guests. The chief guest and the guest of honour complimented the students and staff for putting up such a stupendous show and opined that it was indeed a splendid mosaic of sports, creativity, gaiety and fervor .The chief guest also interacted with the students which further enlivened the atmosphere.
The programme came to a close with the Vote of Thanks presented by the Principal, Jagdish Singh Dhami.
