JAMMU, June 15: As part of BJP’s ‘Contact for Support’ campaign, former MP and senior BJP leader, Shamsher Singh Manhas met with various BJP veterans and prominent personalities of Paloura and shared with them the work done by the central Government in the last nine years.
Manhas met Captain Sadhu Singh Manhas (retd) who played an active part during partition in the wireless unit of Maharaja Hari Singh led forces when Pakistan invaded Kashmir. He has also served the country during 1962 China War, 1965 Pakistan War and 1971 war for liberation of Bangladesh.
Speaking on the occasion Manhas said that in 1980 the then PM Rajiv Gandhi has said that of one rupee released by the central government, only 15 paisa reaches the beneficiary but Modi Govt has opened bank accounts under Jan Dhan Yojana so that one rupee which central govt sends, should reach to the beneficiary directly and fully into their account.
Manhas said that the campaign ‘Contact for Support’ is aimed at informing people about various government initiatives that have resulted in improving living standards of the public during the last nine years.
Prominent among those who were present on the occasion were JMC Councillors Ashok Singh Manhas and Kuldeep Chib; Sukhdev Singh Jamwal, Joginder Chib, Rajinder Singh, Dushyant Singh, Pawan Singh Bhau and Rocky Jamwal.
