Srinagar, June 16: The police arrested two drug peddlers in Kulgam and recovered contraband substance from their possession.
At a checkpoint established at Levdoora Crossing, a police team led by SHO Police Station Qazigund intercepted a vehicle (Bus) bearing registration number JK02BM-4755 with two individuals onboard.
During a search of the vehicle, the police recovered 10 kg of poppy straw filled in a nylon bag, which was kept behind the driver’s seat.
The Police Arrested Rakesh Kumar (Driver), son of Ball Krishan, a resident of Khadi Udhampur, and Samraj, son of Bansilal, a resident of Dhar road Jammu in this connection.
The vehicle used in the commission of the crime was also seized.
According to the police, a case, vide FIR No. 116/2023, under relevant sections of the law has been registered at Police Station Qazigund, and the investigation has been initiated.
