3rd Round of ‘Sunday Series’ held

JAMMU, June 18: The third round of ‘Sunday Series’ of Sport Climbing Competition was organized by Tawi Trekkers J&K, here today. Prarna Charak of Government College for Women, Parade, Jammu has maintained her top position with 300 points followed by Payal with 225 points and Shagun Sharma with 160 points in 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.
Similarly, in the Sub Junior Boys category Aryan Rautham of Army Public School, Damana, Jammu is leading other climbers with 300 points and is followed by Deepak Singh and Himanshu Manhas with 80 points and Udhey Singh and Pranav Mankotia with 65 points.
In the Mini Girls category, Manya Verma who secured 1st position in the second round and 2nd in the 1st and 3rd round of the competition is ahead of Ayanaa Bhagat and Nivedita Kotwal.
Harman Samotra (260 points) Aaradhya Manhas (230points) and Saksham Slathia have so far secured the first three positions after the third round of the Sunday Series of Competitions.
However, in the Sub Junior Girls category in which 1st round was not conducted, Meetali Khajuria who secured the first position in the 2nd and 3rd round is ahead of Arushi and Jeevika.
Similarly, in the Mini Boys category Vidhur Shoor with 200 points is leading over Harshveer and Devansh.
Around 50 climbers participated in the 3rd round of competition in various categories, conducted under the overall supervision of Sumit Khajuria, Vice President of Mountaineering Association of J&K. The technical team was headed by Shawetica Khajuria, General Secretary of Tawi Trekkers J&K and international sport climbers Shivani Charak, Shilpa Charak and Arun Deep Singh.
President of Tawi Trekkers, Ram Khajuria, also paid a visit during the competition and exhorted the climbers to work hard and prepare themselves fully to win medals at the national and international levels.
Meanwhile, the 4th round of the Sunday Series of Competitions in which the Champion of the Month shall be declared will be held on June 25.
