POONCH, June 19: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Yasin M Choudhary today held a meeting with the concerned officers to review the status of land acquisition cases in the district.
During the meeting, it was highlighted that a total of 17 villages are involved in fresh acquisition of NH 144-A Akhnoor-Poonch Highway out of which awards had been issued for 9 villages. These included 4 villages in tehsil Mendhar, 4 villages in tehsil Surankote and 1 village in tehsil Haveli. It was also noted that all land acquisition proceedings in tehsil Mendhar had been completed.
The DC directed the Tehsildars to attest the mutation of PMGSY, PWD and GREF whose awards had been issued and submit the compliance report to Assistant Commissioner Revenue.
The SDM of Mendhar and Surankote were instructed to prioritise the land acquisition proceedings.
The Deputy Commissioner told the Officer Commanding (OC) of GREF to take up the widening of the Poonch to Rawalkote road.
Furthermore, the concerned authorities were asked to clear the pendency with regard to the payment of the awards within the shortest possible time. This move is expected to expedite the developmental projects in the district and ensure timely completion.
