KARGIL, Dec 10: On the second day of his visit to Kargil, Executive Councillor Tourism, Information and Zanskar Affairs, Skalzang Wangyal apprised Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Shailendra Kumar about various problems confronting people of Zanskar Sub Division.
The problems include upgradation of NH 301 (Suru Padum) from Padum side, construction of airstrip at Padum Zanskar, helicopter service to Zanskar during the winter season and also speedy construction of Nimoo-Padum Darcha road.
Divisional Commissioner gave patient hearing to Mr. Wangyal and others and assured that the demands raised will be taken up with the concerned authorities for early fulfilment.
Earlier, Divisional Commissioner presided over an officers meeting of Kargil, convened to review the pace of developmental activities in the district.
DC Kargil apprised the meeting about the achievements registered by the district administration during last fiscal through power point presentation.
The meeting was informed that sufficient stocks of essential commodities are available for six months which include diesel, petrol, LPG, timber and firewood. More steps are afoot to stock more and more commodities in the district.
Divisional Commissioner accompanied by an officers team visited Sanko block and inspected the facilities being provided to people by the district administration.
Awami Darbar was held at Sanko in which various demands came up from the public.
Divisional Commissioner directed the officers to redress the grievances of people on priority.
Divisional Commissioner also visited 44 MW Chotak Hydel Project and enquired about the problems confronting the authorities and public.
Divisional Commissioner directed for providing adequate power supply to the habitation of Sanko and Shakar Chaktan.
