JAMMU, June 26: To celebrate 17th Statistics Day, Directorate of Economics & Statistics here today along with School of Applied Economics & Statistics Jammu organized a seminar and quiz competition on theme ‘Alignment of State Indicator Framework with National Indicator Framework for monitoring Sustainable Development Goals’.
Notable contributions made by Lt. Prof. P.C Mahalanobis, Father of Indian Statistics, in the fields of Economic Planning and Statistical Development were recognized and officers/officials of Directorate of Economics & Statistics, Jammu; School of Applied Economics & Statistics, Jammu and District Statistics & Evaluation Officers of various districts of Jammu participated in the programme.
Satvir Kour Sudan, Director General, Economic & Statistics, J&K presided over the function as chief guest and highlighted major achievements of Directorate of Economics and Statistics, J&K regarding formulation of various indices for the year 2022-23.
Ashu Gupta, Director (Planning), Department of Youth Services and Sports, J&K and Sanjay Vashist, Principal, School of Applied Economics & Statistics, Jammu also highlighted the importance of Statistics in present era. Officers and officials who preformed outstanding in the seminar and quiz competition were felicitated with awards and certificates.
