Jammu, June 28: Veterans Cricket Jammu and Kashmir has been conducting trials for the selection of 40-Plus Veterans at Green Belt Park Ground, Jammu on June 30.
The selected veterans shall qualify for the North Zone selection trials which will be conducted at New Delhi in September and thereafter the players will be shortlisted for the selection process of 40-Plus Veterans India Team.
It needs to mention here that the Cricket World Cup for the above 40-years is scheduled to be held at South Africa in the month of March, 2024 wherein 14 countries including India (Veterans Cricket India) have confirmed their participation.
It is pertinent to mention here that some of former International and IPL players are expected to represent the India veteran’s team in the mega Cricket World Cup. Recently, Veterans Cricket Association of Pakistan also confirmed the availability of some former International Players to represent Pakistan in the World Cup which included Shahid Afridi, Younus Khan, Misbah-Ul-Haq, Kamran Akmal and Abdul Razaq.
The desired veteran players from the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir are invited for the registration and participation in the selections trials. Registration for the participation in the selection trials shall be conducted on June 29 (tomorrow) and only the registered players can participate in the selection trials. The trials shall be conducted under the supervision of Executive Members of Veterans Cricket J&K Rajesh Gill, Haseeb Ur Rehman, RK Bhat, Avinash Kumar and Sudhir Singh.
