J&K students shine at International Dance Competition

JAMMU, June 29: The students from different schools across Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory have participated in an International level dance competition and brought laurels by winning different medals.
In 3rd Mount Everest International Dance, Singing, Acting, and Instrument competition which was held at Tribhuvan University Kirtipur in Kathmandu, Nepal on June 26-27.
The students from India, Sri-Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh and Pakistan participated in the competition that were selected on the basis of their outstanding performance at district level, state level and national level performances in various categories and age groups.
The students from Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir won gold, silver and bronze medals in various instruments and dance forms. In supermom category, Mrs. India Tiara Vista Harkirat Kour won silver medal in semi classical (Teacher in Army Public School), Shahid Salaria won silver medal in folk dance category, (AOC Higher Secondary School Udhampur), Pallavi Sharma won silver medal in theme based freestyle category (Army Public School, Akhnoor), Sanikita Dasgupta won silver medal in freestyle category (Army Public School, Akhnoor), Darwin Singh won bronze medal in instrumental category (KV No.1 Gandhi Nagar, Jammu), Irwin Singh of (Presentation Convent Higher Secondary School, Jammu) won bronze medal in classical category. These children were accompanied by Gurvinder Kour, Technical Secretary Dance Sports Association of India.
